It really wasn't that long ago that I felt more comfortable with the idea of friendship. To those of you who are still there, do not take offense. What I mean to convey, is that life is change. I am certain now that nothing stays the same. There can only be similarities to what we remember. And thats what makes life seem more difficult at times, the adjusting period that we go through to move on.
With that said, I'd like to talk about that last sentence. When you're going through what most refer to as a "tough time", what are some phrases that are commonly said by your so called friends? Ex. ,"Its okay, it won't last forever.", "Just hang in there, I know you'll make it.", "Chin up", or just the classic, "What's wrong?" These are all vague meaningless things people say to try and show that they care about you. When actually by uttering these pointless phrases or questions, they're showing you exactly how much they don't care. So let me get to the point. Sometimes we go through certain struggles, experiences, or events in life that we will never forget. And everyone around you will say, "Let it go", "move on", or "get past it". But there is something to be said for remembering. There are certain things you should never let go of. I contest that those life changing memories should never be forgotten. I am here to tell you this, that I am a worse human being because of the things I have gone through. But the will to survive and the character of a person go a long way. And I struggle daily to prove to myself that there is "better" to be had of this life.
In conclusion let me first apologize for the lack of organization this blog may have. It was not rehearsed or proof-read. Also, the intent of the message here is not meant to depress. Rather: Sustain. Persevere. Do not glance at your life and quit. Be an adult, see your situation for what it is. And accept that you won't always make the right choice. Learn from your past, so that you might have an "educated" future.
"If I gave you pretty enough words, could you paint a picture of us that works? With emphasis on function rather than design. Aren't you tired? Cause I will carry you. On a broken back and blown out knees.. I have been where you are for a while...." -Atreyu

I am glad that you are writing Daniel.
ReplyDeletePlease remember that I am always close if you need to vent.
You're a soldier, Dan.
and you know what I mean.
-Waterchild.
I know that the cliche statements of support seem useless in times of despair. But I know when i tell you things will turn around, and i know you will pull through, it's because I know YOU will make it happen.Yeah sometimes people don't know how to help, so they resort to what they know. Everyone will go through their struggles differently. Not every hard time is going to faced with a strong mind and logical thinking. But thats life. And I believe that sometimes you have to crawl to ever stand comfortably on your own. and sometimes we are going to fall. but we can't stay down Dan. There is too much out there. Too much good within yourself that needs to be shared with the world. Please don't ever doubt that. because I believe it to be true.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry if that makes zero sense.
